Now allowed to host the German Grand Prix for 2009, the Nurburgring will certainly want to justify the FIA decision.

The track combines with the stunning backdrop of the Eiffel Mountains to create a Wagnerian atmosphere. You can almost feel the ghosts of the past on the daunting 14-mile Nordschliefe track which still stretching away from the modern circuit into the forest. The current track has its own challenges, including an inevitable first lap melee into the tight sequence of opening corners.
